The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has confirmed the Accra Sports Stadium as the venue for this year’s Top Four tournament.
The competition, scheduled to begin on August 20, was initially set for the Baba Yara Stadium. However, after an inspection, National Sports Authority Director Yaw Ampofo Ankrah declared the Kumasi facility unfit to host even “colts football.”
The Accra Sports Stadium, currently used for international fixtures and set to stage Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on September 8, will now accommodate the Top Four games.
“We are playing in Accra and the date stands the same,” GHALCA President John Ansah told GHOne TV. “We will launch the programme as required, but as it stands, Accra Sports Stadium is where we are playing.”
This year’s competition features last season’s Ghana Premier League top four sides Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak as part of their preparations for the upcoming campaign. The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on the weekend of September 12.
