The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally announced the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at an emergency Asanteman Traditional Council meeting at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 11, 2025.
The 91-year-old queen mother, who reigned for eight years, died on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She succeeded Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II in May 2017 at the age of 83.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was the elder sister of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and daughter of Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who passed away in 2016 after a 39-year reign.
The one-week observation is set for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
