The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 18 new cases of Mpox, raising the country’s cumulative case count to 346.
In its latest update, the Service reported that the death toll remains at one, with no new fatalities and no patients currently on admission.
The GHS urged the public to remain alert, avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of the disease, and report suspected cases immediately to the nearest health facility.
It further stated that it is working in close collaboration with regional directorates to trace contacts and bolster the country’s coordinated outbreak response.
The update, released on August 7, 2025, comes as health officials intensify public education on prevention measures, including regular handwashing, maintaining good hygiene, and limiting contact with potentially infected persons.
