The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has opened its 2025 Week celebrations with a call on businesses to strengthen compliance and adopt robust enterprise risk management to boost resilience, reduce corporate failures, and attract investment.
The three-day programme, launched at the ORC Head Office in Accra, features a Media Engagement and Business Clinic, sector workshops, outreach activities, and an awards segment recognising exemplary compliance.
Acting Registrar Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah urged companies to “reset the business environment” by closing governance gaps, filing annual returns on time, and maintaining up-to-date records.
“Too many companies fail because they neglect proper filing, leave governance lapses unaddressed, and expose themselves to avoidable risks,” she said.
Held under the theme “Resetting the Business Environment: The Role of Enterprise Risk Management”, the celebration focuses on helping firms anticipate and navigate operational, market, and financial risks.
The ORC is also showcasing enhanced digital platforms for business registration and annual returns, offering free consultations, and discussing key reforms aimed at improving Ghana’s ease-of-doing-business ranking.
