The winner of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will pocket an unprecedented ₵2 million in prize money, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has announced.
Speaking at the GFA’s 31st Ordinary Congress in Prampram, Okraku hailed the new prize as a “game changer” aimed at boosting competitiveness and rewarding excellence in the domestic top flight.
“This is a story that has never been told, but today it’s being told,” Okraku said. “It has been our gospel according to our Premier League. Every point is important, and now there’s ₵2 million as prize money.”
The GFA chief stressed that the increased payout will inspire clubs, players, coaches, and fans to give their best throughout the season, making every match more significant.
The ₵2 million prize marks the highest in Ghana Premier League history, reflecting the FA’s commitment to improving financial incentives and raising the standard of local football.
