NPP activist Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court but will remain in police custody overnight.
The court granted him bail of GH¢50,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be salaried workers. At least one surety must be a government employee earning a minimum of GH¢3,000.
Sir Obama was arrested on Wednesday, August 13, during intelligence-led operations targeting the illegal possession and public display of sophisticated weapons.
Police say he is assisting in investigations into videos and images circulating on social media that allegedly show individuals brandishing high-grade firearms.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the arrest forms part of a broader joint operation with other security agencies to dismantle illegal arms networks. Authorities say the ongoing exercise has so far led to the seizure of a substantial cache of unlicensed weapons and ammunition.
